[A/S] TV Coax

Burt,

Steele's idea is right on the money. Even if the old coax is open or
shorted, it's not worth the effort, time nor cosmetic disruption to get it
out of the walls. It's far more cost effective to disconnect both ends, cap
them and run new coax. The roof end can be cut off at the skin and daubed
with a little caulk the size of a pencil eraser. That's that.

As for the new coax, there are several choices including dropping it down
the refrigerator vent (or drill a hole in the housing to avoid damaging the
screen on top of the vent - then caulk the hole). The placement of overhead
lockers may reveal another alternative.

Whatever you choose, keep in mind that tree limbs and branches will (not
may) try to dislodge your coax. Details, details.
