[A/S] Re: Repacing spring in Zip Dee Awning (was 'new to me Airstream')
Tom, the mention earlier about having a priest standing by is no
joke. I inadvertently released the spring tension when attempting to
increase the tension on my Zip-Dee awning. The wrench I was holding
was ripped out of my hand, and thrown at the side of the Airstream,
which it then pierced. I spent the rest of the day trying to repair
the damage, while feeling a little shaky! I thought I was following
the instructions carefully, but when the tension lock was released,
the result was most violent. I was lucky not to have been badly hurt.
I am a life-long rock-climber, but I've had more narrow escapes in
connection with trailers! Take care! Nick.
