[A/S] Re: floors

I'd put new carpet over old if I had to do it over again. We bought a
1999 25 foot Safari from Can-Am Dealership in Ontario Canada. The
previous owner had new carpet put in over the top of the green rug that
was factory installed. I believe the installation was done at the
Can-Am R-V Dealership. (He had all his other work done there). We've
used the trailer for two winters spending two months each winter in it
while traveling to the south west USA. I see no problems with the rug,
no movement, no nails, just thicker than one would expect. I did have
to raise up the doors that are in front of the couch near the floor.
They hinge down on to the floor The extra height of the carpet made
the hinges (which parallel the floor) to low so the door wouldn't lay
flat on the rug when in the open position.

When they installed the carpet they didn't remove the old nor did they
put the new carpet under the couch and cabinets; they simply butted the
new carpet up to the edges of the wall and appliances. ... Hope this
helps
