I consider doing otherwise to be either/or/and suicide and a public
endangerment, waiting to happen. If you look at those Detroit Iron cars
pulling trailers back in the 60s and 70s, you will notice that they were LONG
wheelbase, and HEAVY vehicles. They were better for towing than were the SUVs
of that period, except the BIG IH trucks. Wiiide track and Looong wheelbase.
My 70 Dodge Polara was a good example. (My bride's Catalina was better) but
the 318ci was too light on power as was the stock differential ratio. Once I
changed out the pumpkin in El Paso, for a 3.72?, it towed great!
