[A/S] Rand McNally CD

I have the Rand McNally Road Atlas 2000 edition, with CD.  I bought it at 
Costco for $9.99 in 2000.

The good news is that the book is *HUGE* measuring  1 foot X  16 inches and 
covers the US, Mexico and Canada. The book (and or/CD) will get you from 
state to state, and from major city to major city, and even has street maps 
for some major cities.  The US is covered much better than Mexico and Canada.

The bad news is that the CD and book just does not have the detail for 
me.  It is, for the most part useless IMHO.  For example I was looking for 
streets in a city below Miami called Homestead, and about all it showed was 
a dot on the map with the CD and book.

As a general guide to major highways in the USA, it is great, and having it 
on a CD is a added bonus.  If the price is still the same at Costco, it is 
a good bargain.  But for anything more detailed than that, I find it quite 
laking.

I know mine is old. Maybe the 2003 or 2004 version is much better.
