Re: [A/S] Rand McNally CD
The pickup is the result of my lifelong love for Model
A Fords - I've owned a few roadsters, a 2 door sedan
and a coupe in the past, but this is the first pickup
I attend any antique car show or flea market that I
can, and started collecting the parts I needed to
assemble the complete truck - I probably would have
come out better financially if I had purchased an
existing truck, but by assembling it myself it has a
special value to me
it's not a show vehicle, and never will be - if it
were I'd be reluctant to drive it I've made a few
modifications to it which include a 12 volt system and
hydraulic brakes
I sold the last boat trailer I had and am now
contemplating putting together one that will have
matching Model A wheels so far I have the wheels
and a front axle that should work out ok
my first Model A Roadster, purchased when I was in
high school cost $125. and today would easily be worth
100 times that my truck has an original ahh-ooga
horn that is worth more than my first car
with 40 sae horsepower, it's not built to pull much
more than a boat trailer, and then only if the boat is
a Sunfish
