Re: [A/S] Sway - #3

I believe that the most importent thing is to hsve enough toung weight.
atrailer that is light on the toung is e real pain to tow.The Silver Abaltross a
24 ft trade wind is very heavy on the toung aprox1000 lbsI tow uith no
equlising hitch or sway bars and have had no provlem with sway it tracks
as it should.Have driven in all kinds aof conditions for 20+k miles. My
experance in the past was from delivering our sail boats which weighed
from 3500 to 6500 + the trailer weight. These trailers had serge brakes
could not use equlisers . As long as tde boat was properaly loaded there
was never a provlem.I travled 200_300 k miles with them. I fermly believe
that any of these hitches Be it Hensley or other is not a subtitute for careful
and prudent driving.Experance also has to come into play. How many
Airstream owners have never towed anything in there lives until they bought
their trailer? They were most probably given a pat on their back by the
dealer and sent on their way with no Ida what towing a trailer realy intaled.
Having said that I can only add that if an special hitch and the most
expencive one gives you peace of mind go for it.But dont critise us who
march to a differnt drum.
