Maurice,
 I owned 4WD trucks for many years, and called a 2WD "half-a-truck".
However, my present truck (Dodge/CTD) is 2WD and auto trans and we get by
OK. There have been a few times where I would have pulled the lever back if
it had been on the floor, but we've never been stuck. One trick I've learned
is to slacken/remove the weight transfer bars if things are a bit slick in a
C.G. and I need to get in or out of a site. That allows all of the trailer's
tongue weight to rest on the truck's rear and really helps the ol' traction
situation. ESPECIALLY if the front of the truck is going uphill from the
trailer!
