I should add:

My wife is about 4'11" with shoes on.  With the chrome nerf bars, she 
has no problem getting into the truck, especially with the handle on 
the passenger side.  Ford had it on the drivers side in '01, took it 
off in '02, and brought it back in '03 due to complaints.  Still, she 
can get into the drivers side with no problem.
