Re: [A/S] New tow vehicle Factory wiring harness
Oliver,
I just was able to gain access to the owners manual
and the vans are not configured the same. GM supplies
a 7 wire harness that is tucked into the frame near
the rear bumper on the drivers side. There is no
termination supplied and I must buy the connector and
make the wire connections myself. Under the dash they
supply another harness which has 4 wires which again
has no termination. Nothing in any of the GM
literature states anything about supplied connectors
so based on the manual and what I have seen in the
past, this is all that van owners get.
I talked with a friend here who has the trailer
package on his new Chevy pickup and that option was
about $700 or so. The option for the trailering
package for the van was $310 so I guess part of the
large difference my be the level of sophistication
that GM gives you.
All in all I've done these hookups before and in
particular this one will be a piece of cake since I
know know that there is a harness under the dash
already.
Thanks for your reply.
Regards,
Jack
