[A/S] New Truck Time Questions

Well it's time for a new truck. Most of the manufactors are offering
good rates or steep discounts.

I'm pulling a 25ft Airstream, but would like the option to upgrade to
a 31ft to 33 ft Airstream/Silver Streak/Avion later on.

And I live in California, land of the grapevine and Highway 80 and 5.

I'm looking at diesel one ton Fords (also vans), GMC/Chevy and Dodges
and the question comes to mind about rear end ratio's and duelly's
verus single rims on the rear end axles and stick or automatic?

So what diesel's trucks are you running with what rear end ratio's, 
tranmissions (stick or automatic) and rims. 

Short beds or extended wheel bases?

White or Red or Green?

Also will I be banned from the group if I use a Fifth wheel setup :)?
Has anyone done this?
