The pull rod is not attached to the valve.  The whole thing is encased in a 
shroud that is riveted under the trailer.  You can move the handle back and 
forth but it is not connected to anything.  We're not sure we can drill the 
rivets out without damaging something underneath.

We are south of Kansas City at Richmond, KS.  Here for our high school 
reunion in Osawatomie which is Memorial Day.  We are 250 miles from the 
dealer in St. Louis.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
