Personally, I've never encountered a problem.  Internet connections 
are routine in KOA's and other high-end parks; some even have 
phone connections available at your site (for a price, of course).  And 
there are many other places where you can make connections: truck 
stops, libraries, friends, etc.  The downside to most of these is that 
you must share, which limits your time to something adequate for 
email, but not extended recreational surfing.  

There are alternatives.  One can connect with a cell phone; the 
principle downside is the narrower bandwidth.  And there are 
satellite services -- but only if you are independently wealthy.  Other 
people on this list (including the owner) are far more expert on these 
than I, and certainly will give you helpful observations.
