Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am trying to not be offended by your remarks regarding the Hensley or 
some other weight distribution hitch, after all I know you are proud of 
your purchase and feel much safer with it on the rig. On the other hand, 
there are many ways to accomplish a safe haul of an Airstream, and yours is 
not the only one. I have heard from several folks that do not use the 
weight distribution hitches and in each case it is not necessary.

The one ton pickup trucks with the diesel engine up front are very front 
heavy and if you notice most of them still sit down lower in the front than 
the rear, even with the Airstream attached. They certainly do not need more 
weight on the front. Secondly, the crew cab and long bed make the truck a 
very long puller, an ideal situation. Lastly, I suspect there are many of 
us not using the weight distribution hitches that have pulled rigs of equal 
mileage than those with them, and know what they can tow and how to hook 
them up.

This list is great in learning much about the pulling and handling and 
living with the Airstream, but there are many ways to accomplish that, and 
there is hardly ever only one way that is good. I will not say anything 
else about this subject and hope I have not hurt feelings, but I just 
needed to say the above.
