[A/S] Optima vs golf cart batteries

I am a late comer to this new battery. About a year ago, I remember
reading that one should yank the RV batteries out of your RV or trailer and
replace them with golf cart batteries.

Has this new battery changed all of that? I plan on going out in the
boonies with my trailer and my cat and hang out for as long as
possible. So I want all the back up power I can get. I can keep them
inside where it is warm.

Before I had a chance to replace the 65 amp alternator on my 1972 Ford
Camper special (my tow vehicle) with a larger "1 wire" 125 amp alternator,
the car Ford dealer broke my alternator and replaced it for free. So now I
have a new 65 amp alternator.

So two questions:

1) Are the golf battery idea out the window now that this new Optima
battery is on the market?

2) Will my 65 amp alternator have enough power to charge up the Optima's
when I drive down the highway and/or run the car engine for a while out in
the woods to charge the batteries when they are getting low?

Thanks in advance.
