[A/S] That Pesky Water Filter

You may remember a few weeks ago I bought and installed a new under the sink 
water filter..... all was well for weeks until I towed the trailer to a 
campground.

When I got to my site I plugged in the electric and the water...and turned 
the water on.

I walked into the trailer to hit the automatic satellite finder and found 
Niagara falls )c:

Water was pouring out under the sink and running down the hall to the 
bedroom... (interesting way to be reminded you haven't levelled the trailer 
yet front to back).

I quickly ran back and shut the water off then mopped up the mess inside.

I reinstalled the filter and had a friend on a cellphone trun the water back 
on.... Niagara Falls again..... I was getting together with a bunch of 
friends who all took a turn and the filter never would seat properly.

I finally capped it off.....

So, do I have the right filter?  If not, why was it happily working for 
weeks?
