Re: [A/S] Travel Clubs
Henry - I've only been a member of Passport for three years but what I've
seen is both good and not so good.
Up until this year the camp grounds I've stayed at that where listed as
Passport Members where as described at 50% or so off their normal
rate. Sometimes you were next to the dumpster, but most of the time you
got the site that you would have if you paid full price.
This year I'm finding some parks are not honoring the Passport at all or
only offering 10% off which is not the deal.
I'm calling way ahead of my projected stay and getting a verbal commitment
from the owner or manager on the rate. before making a reservation.
Escapees on the other hand has a limited number of parks but the rates are
still good, the parks so far are not in the area I'm traveling.
So far that hasn't disappointed me.
For the best camping and rates, I've found Airstream Parks to be the best
overall, and your WBCCI membership is all you need. Some are a long way to
the best shopping but then you can't beat $9.00 a night with full
hookups.(Mystic Springs in Florida)
Some camp grounds have a cheaper monthly rate. The park I'm in now in
Memphis, AR is $22.00 a day or
$200.00 a month plus electric. Electric is about $30.00 using electric
heaters. If staying more than
two weeks the monthly rate is the deal. May camp grounds don't post the
monthly rate so don't forget to ask.
Hope this helps
