[A/S] Replacement Air Conditioner advice
I just replaced my AC after 32 years of service.. Did not think it was
worth it to repair it..
I was also worried about the PAN and would a larger unit fit my 1970
Airstream.
I found out that ALL air conditioners were the Same Size and the new
ones don't use a PAN.
The condensate runs out onto the roof not into a pan and down a little
tube in your wall. I now wonder if this will leave streaks? oh well time
will tell.
Most units have a built in thermostat so you don't have to worry about
that wire. They all use about the same AC power so your 15 to 20 amp
wire will be ok.
Hope this has helped you.
OH. They always take longer to install than was figured on. See if you
can get your installer to give you a firm bid first.. It will be cheeper than
paying him by the hour.
See you on the road
