Yes, the 15K unit tempts me also. I thought AS Tech's advice was a little 
strange, but then, you expect them to know what they are saying (unless it 
is just a business consideration, which does happen sometimes). Maybe the 
pan in my unit doesn't fit all units.

I just emailed the address you gave me and asked them about installing the 
15 w/wo heat pump with my existing pan. I will report what they tell me. I 
need to get this thing resolved - I have a WBCCI caravan coming up on the 
27th and hope to have it all done by then.

I climbed up on the AS roof today and spent some time actually verifying 
(with a spare starting circuit setup from an old working RV conditioner 
from my "scrap pile") that it is, indeed, the compressor internals. So a 
new one is definitely in my future.
