  Hi, One way to determine how good a product is by the length of the 
warranty the manufacturer places on his product compared to similar 
products by other manufacturers. Siemans puts an unconditional 25 
year warranty on it's panels. (others may do the same)As long as you 
don't do physical damage to the panel, it is warranted to perform to  
it's rated specs. No tapering off of performance due to age. If 
performance drops off. they replace it free with a like or similar 
panel. My friend and my son both belong to a ham radio club. They 
have a couple of old 45 watt panels. They look terrible, but when you 
put a meter on them, they work like new. When you get your first 
panel, buy a charge controler that will handle two panels. If you 
decide on the second panel you won't have to lay out $ for another 
controler and have a small one you can't use laying in the garage.
