Mike,

You have to take care not to "overheat" your coach. A 40,000 BTU unit must 
move a very high volume of air to keep from overheating its self. In years past 
Hydroflame had to recall one of their big furnaces because the ducting systems 
could not move enough air. The high volume blower pushed so hard it created 
excessive back pressure which caused the furnace to "limit" out with the limit 
switch turning the burner on and off. The rapid cycling this caused damaged the 
heat exchanger in fairly short order.
The largest furnace Airstream engineers called for was a 32,000 unit available 
some years ago. Now a days they use a 30,000 unit in their mid sized RV's
