Re: [A/S] gadget geek in an Airstream
Because in most of the places I'm looking to get some land at, it can cost
anwhere from $10,000 to more than $100,000 to get power run out to you. Not
to mention other utilities such as water, telephone, sewer, etc.
Plus I'm tired of paying into the "system". Don't really care how easy or
convienient getting "public" utilities run out to me may or may not be, I
don't have any interest in it any longer. Enough of my tax dollars goes
into corporate welfare, Publik Skools which I'll never use (and suck
anyway), and setting up and then tearing down whatever the puppet dictator
of the week is around the globe as it is. From now on - if I can help it -
it's OTG and Under the Radar for this citizen!
And what do you consider a "huge solar setup" anyway? 2, maybe 4 panels, and
possibly a wind generator if approriate should be plenty. Oh, and I'll
always have a dielsel generator (run off waste vegetable oil) to fall back
on too.
