wow! don't get me started on the hailstorm we went thru on the way back from
picking up our trailer from Pt Reyes.  Sitting in a spot in the RV park on the
NRA Whittington Ctr SW of Raton NM.  started hailing with a vengeance - next
thing I knew was that the original double plastic vent covers (speaking of a
Winterizing item!) were shattered with direct hits on both of them.  all we
could do is to put pans under them and let it rain thru.  hail was the
proverbial softball size that we all hear about as old wives tails - you know,
the kind that knock bricks off walls of office buildings in downtown Dallas back
in 1932 or whenever.  absolutely deafening.  if it had happened in Texas, I
would have been looking for cover in a culvert - twister weather don't you know.

surprisingly, the burb got hood and roof but no glass damage and the trailer
roof got a few but nothing on the end caps.  This is the trailer with the epoxy
paint job on the roof to help protect against hail damage.  [The IBM executive
got talked into virtually every Excella gadget, the rear rail supports, etc that
AS sold, every time he brought it in every summer).  anyway, it almost worked.
I think that the adjustor counted some 12 dents total.  

The storms are BAD!!! up there on the Front Range.
