[A/S] Safari Water Leaks
I have a '99 25' Safari and am having problems with water leaking
around the rear escape window. I have recaulked the window but it did
not solve the problem. When I tilt the window out (it hinges at the
top), I can see water on the hinge area. It seems to be coming in
through the hinge and leaking inside the trailer. I can see it
dripping inside from the top edge of the window. I have added another
gasket but it did not slow it down. For the time being, I have taped
the channel around the window covering the hinge. We are expecting
rain tomorrow and the next day. If it still enters the trailer, I
will suspect it coming in around the skylight vent. If it is the
window hinge leaking, would it be ok to run a small bead of black
silicone along the hinge area to seal it? Would this keep the
emergency window from opening if we had to get out? Would appreciat
your input....thanks
