[A/S] Re: brown stains on drapes
Our '94 Excella had this problem when we first got it. We were
told the brown stain on the lining side around the elastic hanging
straps is caused by the flame retardant required by law.
If your drapes are in very good condition otherwise, then it maybe
worth cleaning them. We washed ours and the stains do come
out, however, they need to be pressed. In our case the elastic
is dead and the fabric it self is falling apart (UV damage). We have
new ones on order from Fowler Interiors.
If you want to try washing them, use a very mild soap like Woolite
and hand wash only. Hang them up to dry. Be very careful handling
them when wet, as they may tare easily.
Good luck,
