I agree with Hunter. I towed our 5500 pound Excella (empty) with a 
Jeep just one mile from the dealer to a field, with all the correct 
distributing hitch, sway bar, brake controller, and tire pressures, 
all approved and set up by a local RV maintenance guy. I was driving 
a 4 litre Jeep at about 15 mph just to get it to the field to start 
overhauling the trailer. To be fair, the tow limit for this model is 
5000 pounds, but even that one mile was a white-knuckle ride. Even 
with the 1000lb WD bars on full it was impossible to transfer enough 
weight to the front end of the Jeep to get the steering from feeling 
dangerously light. Never again. I gave the Jeep to my son, and bought 
a big red Dodge Cummins three quarter ton truck. I was a passenger in 
one serious trailer wreck, and the memory will always be with me. 
Some time back there was a horrifying post from a guy who towed his 
Airstream with a Jeep Grand Cherokee up onto an Interstate, and the 
whole combined unit was rolled over by the wind from a passing 18 
wheeler. I feel sick just thinking about it. Nick.
