Re: [A/S] Re: Hensley Hitch Install

Tom,

The trailer cannot "unlock" from the tower, but the tower can "unlock"
from the trailer. (Couldn't steer otherwise) If the trailer starts to
come around, it will naturally take the rear of the tow vehicle with it.
As the driver finds himself heading off the road one would presume he
will steer back onto it otherwise "outa the gene pool". At that juncture
the tower/trailer combo articulates. The stability is based on the fact
that the apparent rotation point is up close to the rear axle so the trailer
has to start the tow vehicle into a rear wheel skid if it wants to skid
itself rather than taking off on its own and coming around and de-stabilizing
the rear of the tower.

Four points of rotation are arranged in a trapezoid (base of a triangle,
the only stable shape in nature) with the trailer at the base and the tow
vehicle at the top. Apex of the apparent triangle falls at/near the rear axle.

Cost is based on per pound, and boy are there a lot of pounds!
