[A/S] Re: mud flaps

Hi Nick

What we have done for years on high vehicles like pickups and SUV's
is to install a mud flap below the back bumper and out pretty wide.
Though not perfect they do work pretty well.

The flap we use is the front flap from an Airstream motorhome. It is
just the right size and it does not look to bad. We install them
with 3/4 inside a 1" square tube so that they can be removed when
not towing.

A flap behind the tire does not protect the trailer as well because
the stones that make it to the trailer come out from below it. If
the flab below the bumper is to low then they will drag and kick up
more than the tires will. As soon as a customer comes in with a set
on I could send you a picture.
