It's hard to advise others on what they should do. I can safely say, 
however, that you should not be concerned with a 26 footer being too long. 
Backing the 26 footer will be no problem at all. Period. 95% of the 
campgrounds will accommodate a 26 footer. Beings you asked for the advice, 
I'll give it....go for the 26 footer. Maybe if it were just you and your 
wife, you could get by with the smaller unit. But with a family, trust 
me...you'll find the longer one better suited. Again....just MHO
