Jim, installing a brake controller such as the Prodigy is pretty much 
plug and play in a 2001 GM truck with tow package.  If you have the 
factory plug, you jut hook the wires to those on the brake control 
and plug it in, and mount the controller under the dash. I understand 
from one of the truck lists that they made it more difficult on the 
2003 truck. The truck's owners manual goes into more detail. That 
plug was in the glove box on our truck when we got it.
