It never does.... I happened to have a photo someone took a few years ago 
while I was hooking up...... I just scanned it and out it in the photo files.

When you get to it (it's the last photo) click on it to enlarge it...... you 
can see how far it is from the tailgate to the jack. Plenty of room to pull 
the bed pretty far out. Far enough to reach stuff you would need.
