ditto my 1990.  interesting that this was a general thing.  not aware of that.
I assumed it was from pulling my 7 ton GCVW up the Raton Pass South Bound in
first gear.  as I have stated or told the story here b4, it shelled out on the
street and I had it replaced with the T400 which is a non electric 3 spd and
belongs in an armored vehicle.

we have decided while driving to Ft Hood and back today, that we are going to go
find an excursion with a diesel in it and quit waiting for an E350 to
materialize.
