Hi,

I've had similar problems and found that it boiled down to a fuse!  I blew
the fuse by disconnecting the battery from the load.  Sounds like this is
your problem/solution.

Eventually I opted for the Inteli Power and Charge Wizard.  No problems
since with the Safari.  Recently, I trashed the original converter in a '74
Argosy and installed the I.P. and C.W.  It's working just fine and I don't
have to worry about much other than keeping the liquid level at the proper
level.
