     I have a '00 PSD. and I get around 18 mpg city.  22 mpg highway running
around 65-70.  That is with the Power Stroke boosted with a BD chip.  The
chip added horsepower, torque, and about 3 mpg to what I was getting before
installation.
The original engine is somewhat detuned by Ford.  I think that they have
tuned newer ones somewhat, as I understand that the towing capacity of the
same vehicle has gone from 10,000 lbs. up to 11,000.
