Hi Jack,

I have the Ford F-250 with the powerstroke diesel and I love it.... that 
said, if mileage is that important the Dodge diesels get better mileage than 
the Ford.  What I don't like about the Dodge is they don't make a crew cab 
yet and they are really noisy.

Diesels are pulling machines... more torque than gas.  Diesels are not 
cheaper by any stretch but they do last longer. You break even in the 
end....... 

The quietest is the new Chevy Duramax.... but they are priciest too.

Hit the dealers and see what you like.  I wouldn't be without my diesel.
