[A/S] Loose Connections

I was working under the sofa in our '92 Excella doing some wiring
modifications and found that one of the leads to the 50 amp thermal
breaker on the street side was loose enough to move with one
finger. The thing probably vibrated loose over the years.

Our A/S has two batteries that have the B+ cables terminated at two
thermal breakers. They are behind the drawer below the sofa and
mounted on the front of the trailer between the battery boxes. The
red cables exit the battery boxes and are connected to the
breakers. There are a few other connections under there also.

I suppose it is a good idea to check the tightness of all of these
terminations every so often and those in the 12 volt distribution
panel as well.

Loose connections in the battery circuit of a trailer or automobile
can be inefficient at best and dangerous at worst. Charging systems
will generate sparks across the gaps in the terminations or they may
spark when a heavy draw is switched on.
