On a WBCCI caravan this spring, I met an airstreamer who had a 2kw 
propane-powered generator mounted just behind the propane bottles on the 
front of his 30-31 footer. It was electric-start, and he had it wired to 
the rear of the trailer so he could plug in his trailer, crank it up, and run.

It was the vertical type (the engine had a vertical shaft, and the 
generator part was mounted below the engine).

It had required some custom fitting to shoehorn it in there, and was noisy 
(bad muffler which needed replacement), but anytime he needed power, he had 
it! The previous owner had installed it, and the new owner actually didn't 
use it much.
