Anti-sway devices are more to control the trailer due to (1) high winds (2)
passing big rigs (3) violent, evasive steering maneuvers than an unequalized
hitch.  If the trailer gets out of control, it doesn't really matter if the
equalizer is set right or not.  That only controls the pitch axis...it can
still sway and/or jacknife.
