[A/S] Re: Heater Blower motor

Next Project! this winter i Discovered my suburban furnace's
blower developed a bad case of square bearings. Are replacements
motors available. Can one be swapped out of a donor furnace? Can any
vintage suburban blower motor that looks like it work. Sources and
prices welcome as well as ideas. the furnace worked fine all winter
except for the shaking that was telegraphed throught.

In the coldest periods i refilled my 30# tank every 12-14 days i was
maintaining the temps at 50-60 except on weekends. I have a safari
which has the single pane glass and old dried out weather striping.
i know that with some thought i can make it more efficient to heat
with some tlc. I have noticed when i replaced the range vent motor
that a little more insulation could have been installed around the
opening where the tube vents out. also more insulation can be tucked
around the fill door and the body from the inside. I have seen patches
of insulation missing from spots between the inside and outside
skins (in the oddest places) where critters were gathering nesting
material. I am also planning on making some blankets from insulation
material to cover the top of the plastic wheel wells. With new curtains i
don't know how much more efficient i will make it but
it will be more comfortable both in the summer and winter.
Be good, Steve O.
