[A/S] Wires on Fridge

While testing the fridge on propane I noticed three wires going into
the heating element cover. Of course I forgot to make note of the
fridge model number and the wires so now I'II go by memory. Two of
the wires are yellow and one was blue or green. One of the yellow
wires had an end cap on it and is not connected. I realise the
information I've provided is scanty, but does this wiring setup sound
okay? The fridge is a Dometic on propane or 110.

I noticed that the wiring looks new in comparision to the contents of
the compartment and the wire coloring is not what is shown on the
back of the fridge.

I riveted my battery door compartment as the screws would not bite
into the wood. There's some wood rot going on to the right side of
the battery tray. I checked the rest of the compartments from the
inside and the wood is fine. Just aged in color. One can see water
stains, but there's soft spots. Isn't there an expoxy that I can put
on the wood to protect\preserve it?
