Re: [A/S] New 2003 Safari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi ALL!!!

I'm back in one piece and so is the Safari! I can't believe I made it to
Ohio and back in two days! I made such good time going (9 hours) that I
was able to get to the dealership before they closed on Sat. I spent
that night in the coach plugged into the back of the showroom! I had
brought a lot of my trailer stuff with me so I unpacked and got it all
homey like! By 10pm I had the TV on and a glass of wine on the dinette!
That night it dipped into the low 30's BUT with the automatic furnace I
was all snugly in my Travelsak sleep system! Hot water at the flip of a
switch, never had to go outside! This is the Taj Mahal !!!

Next morning I was up with the chickens (so excited) so while I waited
for the dealer to come help me hitch up I got my new McTesh (Hensley)
mirrors on the Tahoe and had time to wonder through all the other new
A/S's on the lot! (all doors were open!) Saw the International (like
mine better) and some really expensive big guys! The dealership had
installed my new Hensley before I arrived so all the salesman and I had
to do were the final adjustments. All went smooth and I headed north for
the Camping World in Brunswick. (none in NY so I take advantage when I'm
around one) From northern Ohio I could come back on interstate 80 which
has a lot fewer trucks and concrete construction dividers to navigate
around. Got into the George Washington Bridge around midnight and
discovered why I hadn't seen many trucks on the road, they were all
waiting for me on the Cross Bronx Expressway!!!!!!!! Talk about white
knuckles! Here I am in a brand new, dent and scratch free Safari and on
the right of me is a solid wall of semi's and to the left is the
concrete wall! I was certain the end was in sight! Those new mirrors
kept me two inches correct on either side and I made it threw!

Right now the Safari is parked in front of my house and today I have to
take down my fence and put it on the back patio while I wait three weeks
for the new owners of my 67 Safari to come from Cape Cod to pick it up
from my mother's driveway where I'll keep the new one! It's tough living
in the burbs of NY!!!!!!!!!!! At least on my patio I can play with it
till then! Yea! I'll take some photo's to post for all to see. I really
love it! So much to figure out, lots of electronic compared to the 67!

Thanks to all of you for your concern about my trip and interest in the
newbie! Especially to Hunter who I called last night for unhitching
directions for the Hensley! ( I'll be doing it today Hunter, you may
hear from my again!)
