Andrew, to get as close as possible to ideal boondocking you need to use
as little electricity as possible. Use a gas refridgerator not a 12 v
one. Use ultra lite flourescents ( or better yet the pricey but low amp
LED's) Use a hand pump like on a boat for water.

You still will need to charge the batteries eventually,  either with
solar or a generator. Right now I have the generator, a Honda 2000i. You
owe it to youself to actually go hear one running, it is pretty quiet
and you only need to use it to recharge your batteries. Your tow
vehicule is all but useless for recharging. 

Solar is my dream, but here in the NE area ( it is snowing !!!!!) the
sun is unreliable.
