Hang in there, it will be worth it. Your bragging rights are inversely 
proportional to the effort you put into it to get it the way you want.
The black dirt sounds like Peanut was pulled by an older diesel engine 
vehicle. Some of those older rigs made a real mess at higher altitudes
Be careful putting the drapes in the washer. The originals were dry clean 
only.
Often it is possible a local glass house will work on your front center 
window. Since it's flat, it is a matter of cracking (pardon the pun) the 
frame, replacing the glass and putting it back together. When you're ready 
to remove the window, if you haven't figured it out, just give us a holler.
We use spray silicone on the window and entry door gasket. It keeps them 
from sticking as much.
It is not uncommon for belly metal rivets to give up. The rivet head is 
pretty small and can't handle the load under much vibration. Look for an 
3/16 all aluminum rivet with a large diameter head to replace the blown 
rivets.
The refer may not be as gone as it seems. Parts like heaters are easy to 
get. A couple of quick things to do. Check the chimney (square assy on the 
right). If it's hot your electric heater is working. If not there are only 3 
possibilities, the heater, the thermostat, or the switch. Let us know.  Be 
sure you clean the chimney tube (above the burner) before you fire it on 
gas. Over time a lot of crud can get in there. Carefully directed compressed 
air or a strong vacuum cleaner should get most of it.
When you say front window molding are you talking inside or out?
