Jim,

If you don't have a ladder that reaches over your coach, try one of these 
options, both which I've used. Use a step ladder tall enough to step over on 
the awning case. Or, lean a ladder against the awning case with cloth 
between the ladder and case. While it is best to stay on the rivet lines as 
best you can, you will not fall through if you miss.
