Re: [A/S] Tire pressures

Chuck & Lynn,

The issue is not "allowing for expansion". The issue
is carrying the proper air pressure in your tires in
conjunction with the load bearing capacity of your
tires and the weight of your A/S. You really need to
get back to the manufacturer of your tire and get a
chart showing how the capacity of the tire changes
with varying cold inflation pressures.

Your maximum load capacity for your tire is stamped on
your side wall along with the maximum inflation. The
load carrying capacity is reduced as you decrease your
inflation pressures below the maximum inflation
pressure.

Don't guess. You can't assume that inflating the tire
to 50% of max inflation equates to 50% of maximum load
capacity.

Initially if you can't get this information prior to
your trip, inflate towards the high side.
