The problem with copper line is that as mention it dose swell, also 
different size line is used for different applications. I fixed all 
my copper in my freeze damaged trailer by using a swedging kit. This 
is a set of tool which lets you expand the copper so it will slide 
over itself. You then sweat it together. I cut out all breaks then 
took softdrawn copper line as close in size as the original then 
swedged it to fit over the old line then sweated the lines together. 
I just sweated on the proper end fitting to the existing lines. You 
can buy short coils of copper at Lowes or Home Depot, the swedging 
kit also.

I replaced the locks on my storage doors with mail box locks from 
ACE. Exact replacement. This is on a 68 Globe Trotter
