Re: [A/S] Hello and ... looking
Hi Hunter,
Thanks for the welcome. Where in NC did you park your rig before you
went full-timing? Do you even have a home base now at all?
How many others are with you in the DC unit? We went to a function
over in Highpoint (sp?), NC this past weekend and I think we only
recognized a couple of people at most at the restaurant they were
supposed to go for lunch in Kernersville, NC. That town is near
Winston-Salem, I'm sure you know of both those areas.
So we didn't stay for lunch as we really don't care for the Ryan
Steak House chain and all they had at that time of day was a buffet
besides. We then went back to the campground in Highpoint which is
at a city owned park with full hookups. Imagine that! Full hookups
in the city park! ;) The area where they camped was for groups and
it was really nice as were the park police and marina people. I
never knew that place existed before our visit there.
We didn't want to wait around for the group to return although it
would have been nice to meet some of the group samll as it was. We
finally went back to the Piedmont Farmers Market for fresh produce
and a bite to eat at the restaurant there. If you or any of the
others here locally haven't been to the Piedmont Farmers Market you
should stop by when you are in the area. The hours of operation are
from 6am - 6pm Monday through Saturday. On Sunday they open at 10am
and close at 6pm like the rest of the week. We really enjoyed the
shopping with the fresh produce and so much more.
If anyone here knows of an Airstream motorhome classic they are
looking to sell I'd like to hear about it. Only lately has my wife
thought that instead of getting a newer trailer she'd really like to
have a "wheelie house" as our friend in TN calls them. ;) I
understand that these motorhome units come with a GMC or Chevy engine
and chassis. Is that correct, do you know? Something in the early
to mid 80's in model year might be in the ballpark for us expense
wish. It would be really nice to have something to take to the Rally
in July which we have never attended before if that is at all
possible.
Once again, thanks for the Howdy! Hunter and hopefully I'll get some
mail on a few nice gently used Airstream motorhome classics.
How often do you manage to get through NC these days, Hunter?
