Chuck and Lynn,

 While I don't own an Overlander,my trailer has that same rail screwed under
the window behind the pull-out bed.I think it's purpose is mainly to hide
that extra cushion that one needs to use when you make the bed.Said cushion
lies behind the main cushions(the ones that make up the couch set-up).The
top of it it is then hidden by the rail.Hope I am explaining myself ok...but
I think that is it's purpose....also comes in handy to lay your book on
after some pre-sleep reading!
