I thought the "Ford Expedition" also, however in researching a new
tow vehicle with Ford,  I find Ford does not rate the "Expedition" for
more than class II towing, that the "Ford Excursion" can be purchased
as a class IV tow vehicle with either the 6.8L V-10 or the 7.3L Turbo
Diesel.  With either the V-10 or the 7.3 Diesel,  the "Excursion" is rated
for a GCVW of 20,000 Lbs., max trailer weight of 11,000 Lbs.  It is my
understanding the "Ford Excursion is the Ford SUV equivalent of the
Suburban, and rated similarly to the F-250 for towing.
