[A/S] towing with a 6.2 verus 6.5
I am sure the 6.5 would probably tow better, but towing with a 2.54
verus a 3.73 and compairing the two is not hardly fair to the 6.2. I
have a 6.2 with a 3.73 in it and have been towing a 31 footer with it
since it was new and have been tickled to death with how it has
performed. I have 275,000 miles on it now and still tow with it. It
is now not my primary tow vehicle, but still would not be afraid to
go anywhere with it. It came with a 3.42 gear and it discenagrated
and I replaced it with a 3.73. I could tell a diference between these
two gears, so a 2.54 verus a 3.73 is ,in my opinion, not a good
comparison. I was told the reason the 3.42 rearend discenagrated was
because of the posi-traction rearend locking up. Just something to
think about when buying another tow vehicle. Posi-traction or open? I
also did not find my 6.2 to be overly noisy, but the 6.5 is still a
quiter motor. This is my two cents worth. Freezin' in Ohio, Richard
